Official Love Story Contest

No purchase necessary. This contest is officially sponsored by Cas Antica Italian Restaurant and the Hyatt Regency Sarasota. Concept by The Observer Media Group.

The Contest

Contestants may submit 200-word essays and photos from January 16 - January 30, 2013. Voting will take place January 31 - February 7, 2013. Any individual who is 18 years of age or older and resides in Sarasota or Manatee counties in the state of Florida may enter. This contest is void where prohibited by law.

Fill out the Official Entry Form online, and upload a photo. Please do not submit photographs of an obscene, pornographic, profane, racist, or otherwise offensive nature. By submitting an entry, the entrant acknowledges that the photo submitted represents his/her own property and that the photo does not infringe on any copyright, trademark, moral right, right of privacy/publicity, or intellectual property right of any person or entity.

Employees of The Observer Media Group, Hyatt Regency, Cas Antica Italian Restaurant, their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible. 

License

By submitting your photo, you give all official contest sponsors the right to use your photo for advertising and other promotional material, both in print and online, or in any other way they decide to use it. By entering the contest, you agree to participate photography and interview with The Observer newspaper.

Voting

Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided.

Only one registered account per voter. If multiple accounts are detected for a single voter, they will be disabled and votes disqualified.

Winning

One prize package will be offered to the Love Story entry with the most votes. Registrants may vote 10 times per day during the voting period. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. 

Winners will be notified by phone. If a winner is unreachable after three (3) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. 

 Prize Fulfillment

The prize is one (1) overnight stay at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota, and One (1) dinner at Cas Antica Italian Restaurant. The prize package must be redeemed on February 14, 2013 (Valentine’s Day) or the prize package will be void. Some restrictions apply.

Conditions

By entering this contest, the entrant agrees to these official rules, and submits to the judgment of The Observer Media Group as to the validity of entries, and the contest winners. The Observer Media Group holds the right to verify the validity of any entry (including an entrant’s identity and address), and to disqualify an entrant if their entry is found to be not in accordance with these official rules, or if the entrant has tampered or attempted to tamper with the contest or results thereof in any way.

Privacy

Entrants further grant to The Observer Media Group, Hyatt Regency Sarasota, and Cas Antica Italian Restaurant the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest as well as the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.  No personal information will be shared with, sold to, or given to, any third parties or affiliates.

If the entrant has opted to receive sponsors’ newsletters, periodic newsletters will be emailed to the entrant, unless the entrant opts out of the newsletters by unsubscribing. We also reserve the right to send marketing materials or advertisements to the entrant’s physical address in the future.

The Contest and all of the related pages, contents and code are copyrighted by UPICKEM, and/or The Observer Media Group. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited. 

Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.

UPICKEM and The Observer Media Group are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.

Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.

This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.

Participating sponsors reserve the right to change the rules at any time.
